Top Date Idea: Mountain Bike Excursion!
Enjoy the outdoors! It will be great fun, hard work, and it will make for awesome memories. Here’s how it works:
The Concept
Even if you’re not a star athlete, you can navigate the “novice” trails fairly easily during this mountain bike excursion.
- You’ll need a mountain bike, helmet, and some water.
- It will cost you some bikes if you don’t have any and 4 hours of time.
Our Three Step Process
Because we women can handle more steps.
Step 1
You’ll want to grab a few things like granola bars, good shoes, and…oh, a friend that you can double date with and has gone before! Check your tires and grab a small backpack to put your things in. (Carry your cell in case of emergency). Let’s be honest…it takes a little more effort than most dates, but it will be a blast and something you two can hopefully start doing regularly together!
Step 2
When you’re on the trail, ride what you feel comfortable with and walk your bike over any tough spots or hills when you don’t feel comfortable. Make sure you know your capability when trying to figure out difficult courses. You guys are going to have a blast. But keep in mind, this isn’t for the faint of heart. You’re going to have to show your man what you got…and may walk away with a few scuffs and scratches.
Step 3
Modification! No mountain bike trails in your area? ….hit the road instead! Bike to a nearby restaurant for lunch, or pack a picnic and visit a park. Biking is a great way to talk, get to know each other, and enjoy the day. It will certainly be a top date idea that you’ll come back to over and over.
Here Is What We Did
Women, you can entice your man by following examples like this (they’re easy)!
I invited my husband on one of our first dates. I wanted my friends to get to know him, so what better way than to get him out of his element on a mountain bike course? I also wanted to show off a little ;). We took our bikes to Santos Trailhead in Ocala and had a blast riding through the woods and exploring. Since then, we have been back many times, and he has way surpassed my ability level now! We still enjoy the challenge, the exercise, the fresh air, and the company.
